As a general rule of thumb, assume all members of the pantheon function in a similar fashion to myself. Except hal. Since his vessels are not organic in nature he has slightly different rules.
But for the rest of us, we have three “types” of vessel. There is of course the biblically accurate horrorterror, practically an obligation, that one. Then our “True Vessels,” or the original bodies we had, from our own timeline. They are, besides the biblically accurate horrorterror, the most capable of withstanding and maintaining our power. Its not perfect but it works. These vessels are also so oversaturated with our aspects that theyre essentially made of them now, and tend to come with a very noticable divine aura as they host the vast majority of our consciousnesses. This would be “the angel” and “the god” from yesterdays visions injected directly into the mind. “The angel” is my vessel, obviously, and “the god” is hal.
Then there are the contract vessels, and/or possessed individuals, as discretionary by a given contract. These are meant for the sole purpose of maintaining a presence in a timeline to enable and maintain a contract, as necessary to fulfill the terms of it. That is what you see actually interacting with waterworld dirk and hal, contract vessels created and maintained for the sole purpose of fufilling the set terms. The power output and abilities of these vessels are dictated by contract and what they need to be capable of to complete the given task—for example, again using yesterday, hal posed a threat to the waterworld boys and jake accordingly found his capabilities rising to match what was necessary to keep them safe, which brought with it physical manifestation of his power in the form of the golden fog.
In addition, upon fulfillment or dissolution of a contract, any associated contract-bound vessels will stop existing. Jakes form is the only thing thats made for them though. He still exists outside of them and outside of their timeline, there is simply a part of his consciousness always there. Hal tends to run them in parallel on separate streams with no bleeding but jake cant. Im probably not explaining well but this gosh darn body is a *****ing nightmare and a half.
