"Ekh Yablochko" is an old Russian song from the Russian civil war. Although the name translates to being "Little Apple", the song wasn't about apples. Instead, the lyrics varied, usually about the political situation at the time. What remained the same in each rendition was the phrase "Ekh Yablochko!" being sung before every stanza, hence the name of the song.
It was sung by multiple sides of the war. The Bolsheviks, the White army, and also the Ukrainian Anarchists, all of whom having their own unique lyrics.
Ekh Yablochko is sometimes called "The Russian Sailor Dance" in western countries.
