"Miya-san, Miya-san" is a Japanese war song from 1868, created in the early Meiji period. It is the oldest Japanese military march of European style. An alternative name for the song is "Tokoton-yare" or "Ton-yare".
The song popular among those who fought for the emperor during the Boshin War (AKA. the Japanese Civil War), which was when clans and armies loyal to the Japanese Emperor Meiji fought against the Tokugawa Shogunate to restore his power.
