Hej Sokoły / Гей Cоколи (Hey Falcons) is a Polish-Ukrainian folk song, popular in the countries of Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia. It also has some popularity in Russia, Czechia and Belarus.
The song is about a Cossack/Uhlan bidding farewell to his Ukrainian wife, who he will see for the last time.
The song gained popularity in Poland during the Polish-Soviet War of the 1920s, and amongst the Polish Partisan movement against Nazi Germany in the 1940s.
Some sources attribute the song's writer to a Polish composer called "Maciej Kamieński", whilst others believe it was written by the Ukrainian-Polish poet "Tomasz Padura"
