NO THIS IS NOT CLICK BAIT.
Let me tell you some of my favorite DAWs that are not limited by a lite version and actually work well.
Cakewalk by BandLab:

Soundbridge:

I did not include LMMS because it kinda SUCKS
THANK YOU! LMMS really does suck.
All these have automation. Mulab, reaper and OS have limited instruments and tracks. Mulab has a 10 minute limit, reaper has limited tracks.
Oh reaper does? I never noticed that... I've added hundreds of tracks just for the sake of it. It never said I added too many
You can add vst instruments (as many as you want) and MuLab has a modular thing that's really fun.
MuLab 7.7.4 has no limits, other than a rolling noise a few times through the song, but other than that its free. You can find it on the "legacy versions" page

This was the site I turned to back in 2017, but now it has a trash trial version and locked half of the features behind a monthly fee (it's cheap, but still not free). So sad bc it was rather easy and intuitive to use.
And yeah lmms is garbage. If I ever get back into legit music making (like game soundtracks or something), I'll prob look at Cakewalk or another one here. Or just bite the bullet and buy FL Studio.

get the producer edition. the others are too expensive and the lowest doesn't have the gucci.
Anyone else think GarageBand is pretty good?
Like, professional grade?
Just me?
Damn.
