I don't know if this is resurfaced, but can there be a setting to delete your own messages instead of having moderators to do it?

Yes, you have to hold ctrl+w and click the message.

You can delete them usually if you use discord to send your messages. (With your discord account !link-ed to your OS account through Robo). They can be deleted through the discord app. Sometimes it glitches though, and it will delete in discord but not on the site, but that generally doesn't happen too often.
