My love for music started out long ago, listening to my grandfather playing the piano. He always played by ear (I'm not sure that he could even read sheet music).  Nevertheless he played beautifully and that got me interested in learning to play the piano for myself. My parents sent me for lessons for quite a few years.

Later on I was introduced to the demoscene, and tracker music in particular. This was a form of writing music in the early to mid-90s. It was pretty much like using online sequencer except you had to use your own instrument files. I started out on Fast Tracker, where you could play four instruments at a time, and then moved to Scream Tracker 3 when that came out. This was before the world wide Web really came into its own, so you'd have to find music on different people's bulletin board systems (BBS).

Future Crew was the premiere demo group of the '90s, and Purple Motion and Skaven were *the* composers to look up to at the time. Their influence is still probably buried somewhere in my music.

Fast forward a few decades, raised a family, instilled the love of music in them, and taught two my grandsons the basics of playing piano.

One of my friends at work found this site and thought it was cool, so he shared it with a bunch of us.  I fell in love immediately, and you guys know the rest.
