Ever start a collab and wonder why it cant be finished?
Well from my experience doing multiple collabs, I have noticed some things that might help make collabing more efficient

1. Start by talking about structure with your collaborator
  • ABACAB Format for example
  • Break down of instruments wanted

2. Know what you want to achieve with the collab
  • Genre?
  • Style?

3. Communicate working time
  • Make sure you are both committed to working on this
  • Make sure you can prioritize personal life while still trying to create a great product

4. Know each other's strengths and weaknesses
  • Talk about how one person can help the other
  • Know what they can accomplish and accommodate

These are the main things I try to communicate in successful collabs.
Let me know if I have missed some things

Thanks.
Alex!
