Full Version: why does distortion guitar sustain sound so weird

do this experiment:
open up onlinesequencer and make a really REALLY long note with dist. guitar (sustain)
make the note C3 (the lowest note possible for dist. guitar)
turn up your volume
once the actual guitar settles down you should heard some weird stuff (if wearing headphones, it'll be in your right ear)
it'll sound like different notes?? and then it'll just cut out
same sorta thing happens with C4, though it's in the left ear and sounds like a tape stopping????
anyone know why this is happening?
I recorded the distortion guitar sustain using a real guitar. To do this I recorded every note twice and put 1 recording in each ear. What you are probably hearing is when I take my fingers off the strings I might have missed when editing the samples
