There is no way to control the scroll type in the player now like there was before, and which there was in the editor, which also means that, while a song is playing, you cannot move away from the guide arrow to change the spot the song is at. You have to stop the song and then move it.
And yes, the player is always smooth scroll even if you were editing in fast scroll or no scroll, the moment you open the song in the player (permanent link), it goes to smooth. I could have sworn that you used to be able to change the point of the song while it was playing.
