You could break all this cello into different parts, like take some the high register and change it to violin, and/or some of the low register into some bassy synth or something. You wouldn't have to throw anything away, just convert some of the cello into different instruments. Then you could still put a dance or a triphop beat under it and have a classical themed dance song. And even further still you could come up with another part for a chorus, probably something less busy - grab attention of the ear that way against the intricate first part, before dropping back into the baroque verse part.
