I feel like the most common "bad mixing" mistakes I see on OS are:
1. Too much reverb
2. Too much Low EQ
3. Too much volume
I think the last one is because of a common mistake where if an instrument is not heard, it gets turned up, rather than the better option, to turn everything else down. Just this can make the volume a lot better.
