Honesty comes before politeness, although you should try to be as polite as possible. This ties in with don't speak ill of yourself, unless you truly feel you have wronged. So many people here say they suck. Addiction to sympathy is something I truly despise

The more you lie to yourself, the less you can do to fix your problems

Plan ahead

Sadness is not a good thing, but people often forget

Be opinionated, but approach every situation with an open mind

Don't think of bad experiences. Keeping bricks in your bag will only slow you down

Think logically and thoroughly before taking actiong

Don't throw away what breaks, fix it and use it more. This saves so much money when you buy cheap crap like I do

Don't forget to take a break. Taking a break and clearing your mind can really help you straighten your mind

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as you're happy. This ties along with if you want it but its not there, make it. Compliments are nice and all, but no amount of compliments is greater than the feeling of self satisfaction

And no cheese flavoured chicken!

These are all very good thoughts, Sir_Guy.
I'd like to add that you should be careful that others' are not hurt by your actions: making sure that nothing that you are doing personally is causing another harm.
This idea ties in with your last tip - at first my tip may seem to negate it, but the juxtaposition between my thought and yours actually allows for a new thought: Try not to be terribly self-centered.
However, allow yourself to be happy, but also first confirm that your happiness isn't causing someone else pain or sorrow.

It is difficult to identify who you should 'love' first; if you cannot love yourself, can you love others?
But perhaps you should care for the people you interact with each day just as much as you care about yourself.

Anyway, these are just ideas.

Definitely.

You should always look out for others in any circumstance,, as much as you can while causing no harm to yourself, no matter who they might be. Self centeredness is bad, and I can see where you got that from. Not my intention, of course, but just be balanced. If someone is offended by everything you say, they're just too stuck up with themselves.

However

You should ask those who find discomfort around you why, and if they can provide a valid argument, you should probably consider their reasoning (open mind)

I try to live by these, but I can be illogical at times...

Maybe I'm just getting old 😆
