Will some imported midis just sound bad mo matter what you do them?

I imported this midi that is based off of a track from a Gameboy game:


It sounds alright I guess. Here is how it sounds on the Gameboy:

I also tried importing a midi for a Robocop game:


It sounds very off. I didn't even bother changing the instruments as they made it sound worse.
