Subscribing/Following and liking suggestion

So, in my opinion it could be very useful to be able to subscribe to someone in order to receive notifications about what they published in the new tab called "notifications" or something like that.

I also have an idea which is that you would be able to like sequences and the person who owns those sequences, that you like, will also receive a notification.

Is that idea good?

It sounds like a good idea in theory but in practise OS will just turn into another disgusting popularity race on the internet where people ask for likes, instead of feedback
