You may have seen #OSCRM posted in chat, but what does this mean?
OSCRM is an abbreviation that stands for the OS Community Reform Movement. When someone posts this in chat, it may mean that they are showing their support for OSCRM, but it's more likely that it means the current state of the chat needs to be changed.
This movement started as a way to better our environment here on OS. An official statement regarding the upcoming changes can be found here: https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=6324
FAQ:
Q: Is this official?
A: Sort of. The site changes are certainly official, and we work closely with the moderators to ensure the right results. However, this is a community based movement and therefore we are not able to enforce anything.
Q: Who runs OSCRM?
A: OSCRM is a movement, not a group. However, some follow OSCRM more closely than others. Keep an eye out for these people, they will try to guide and help you as much as possible!
Q: Why do we need a movement?
A: I'm sure you have experienced how hostile and chaotic OS chat can be. Our goal is to minimize conflict and make OS a place that neither users nor moderators resent. To create change, we need to start with ourselves.
Q: Are moderators becoming more strict?
A: Yes! And that is a good thing. The existing rules will now be enforced more, and less exceptions will be made.
Q: Do moderators have to follow the same rules as everyone else?
A: Of course! Moderators are subject to the same rules as regular users, and this has been made clear in Lucent's Site Regulation Announcment (listed below).
Q: What is an OSCRM Violation?
A: There is no such thing.
Q: Will OS chat ever go back to normal?
A: It depends on what you consider normal, but I wouldn't say so. We will always be working on improving our environment, but I acknowledge that there will be low points.
Q: What can I do to show my support for OSCRM?
A: Spread positivity, stay civil, and follow the rules. And if you want to support the movement directly, inform others about OSCRM!
Q: Has OSCRM succeeded?
A: I believe we have made great progress since the beginning of OSCRM. However, there is always room for improvement. Remember, OSCRM starts with yourself. Only when you work on yourself will the effects extend to others.
