Having the ability to put notes in layers with separate volumes would make it much easier to balance the sound when having an accompaniment because sometimes it drowns out the melody.

That would be an awesome feature indeed. What I do is to overlap the same track again (copy it and paste it at the same place). You can do it as many times as needed, for me 2 or 3 copy/pastes do well.

Great suggestion! I'd find that very useful, especially when adding the violin and the cello, because I can hardly hear the melody when adding them, so I have to take them out.
