How do y'all handle palm-muted distorted guitar?

What the subject says. I've been having a lotta fun making covers of various songs I like on this website, but I listen to a lot of rock music, which uses plenty palm mutes. Any idears?

I use quite a bit of palm muting in my covers and I'm not sure of a great way but most of the time I lower the High EQ or shorten the notes, then experiment what sounds best.
