Who is a Python developer and how to become one

Why has Python considered the most straightforward programming language? What do Python developers do besides neural networks and data analysis? And which departments of Netflix and Spotify use the language? We understand the structure of the profession.

Along with the rise of machine learning and neural networks that the world has seen since the early 2010s, Python has also rapidly grown in popularity. The language has become a professional industry standard. Let's look at these and other areas of Python application and the skills necessary to start a career as a developer.

What Python Developers Do

Python is used in various fields. The degree of language use and the developer's skill set depending on the specific profession and application. For example, Python is actively used in research activities when working with data. You can be a partially-fledged Python developer for these purposes. It is enough to know the tools necessary for specific tasks for calculations and their automation: the libraries SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and others. The same applies to specialists in other areas, such as testers, CNC machine operators, marketers, and sociologists. All work with any data can be somehow simplified and automated using Python.

Today, data analysts can only do with basic knowledge of Python. For specialists in this field, knowledge of complex language constructs is less critical than the ability to use its libraries (for example, IPI, TensorFlow) and write code as clearly and cleanly as possible. As well as additional hard skills: knowledge of linear algebra at the level of the final grade of a mathematical school or the first year of a technical university, logic, probability theory, and SQL - for writing database queries.

A more advanced level of Python proficiency will require neural networks. The amount of data here is much more significant. It is the neural network technology behind the recommendation system for each user on Netflix, Spotify, and Yandex.Music. To keep big data processing speed high, a developer needs to be able to write clean code and know how to optimize it. You will also need more advanced mathematics - a section of matrices, mathematical analysis, and matrix structures - and tools such as JIT technology to increase software systems' performance, TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch libraries, as well as knowledge of C ++ and Java programming languages.
