A British soldier patrols the quay. He holds his Lee-Enfield firmly as he looks upon the lake before him. He thinks to himself of his home, his family, and his wife back at home. He returns to the present as the faint smell of gas approaches his nose. He hears the water ahead of him moving. He raises his rifle shaking ever-so-slightly. He sees a gray mass under the water, approaching at an alarming speed. He fires his rifle to no appeal. He shoots again and again only to see the mass emerge from the water. The barrel upon the steel panzer points to his soul. It stops its advance as the young soldier releases his rifle from his hands. In a flash moment, a man yells "Feuer!" and the soldier is no more. A pool of flesh and blood is left behind as the panzer advances unto the land. Forevermore, do the British soldiers tell this very tale, finishing in one phrase, "Beware the moving waves, the smell of fuel, the steel of the lake; the Schwimmpanzer lurks."
