Created a V2 archive for more outlandish instruments

New page

This is a list of many custom instruments and sounds created by the OS community.

<div class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" style="border:1px solid #aaa; padding:10px; background:#f8f8f8;">

'''Rules for GD’s Custom Instrument Archive V2'''

'''Inclusivity First'''
This archive is open to all creators. Any instrument may be added as long as it:
* Is made in Online Sequencer
* Has clear instructions
* Has an example sequence
No instrument is removed just because someone dislikes how it sounds.

'''Reworking Instead of Deleting'''
If an instrument needs improvement:
* Do NOT delete it
* You may rework or improve it
* Credit the original creator
* Alternate versions are allowed

'''Credit Creators'''
Every entry must include:
* Creator name
* Link to OS profile
* Example sequence

'''Clear Instructions'''
Entries must include:
* Base instrument
* All slider values
* Any special techniques (pseudo‑sustain, layering, etc.)

'''Respectful Collaboration'''
* No insults
* No hostile edit summaries
* No deleting entries without discussion
* Improvements should be constructive

'''Experimental Sounds Allowed'''
Stylized, distorted, unrealistic, or unconventional sounds are welcome.

'''Organization'''
* Keep formatting consistent
* Use correct categories
* Include images when helpful

'''Versioning'''
If you improve an instrument:
* Add it as “V2” or “Alternate Version”
* Do not overwrite the original
* Credit both creators

'''No Gatekeeping'''
Quality is subjective. This archive exists to avoid the gatekeeping issues of the main archive.

'''Follow OS Wiki Standards'''
* No spam
* No vandalism
* No unrelated content
* No broken links

</div>

* Select synthesizer or create a clone.
* Set the waveform to sawtooth
* Set the filter to lowpass and set the frequency to somewhere around 1200
* Change the LFO to pitch, and set the intensity to 5
[[File:Screenshot 2026-02-13 164202.png|thumb|269x269px|Synthesizer settings for oboe|none]]
* In advanced options, set Classic Reverb to about the middle of the slider
* Click EQ and set the High and Mid EQs to around 20.
* Turn the volume down to your liking.

To make the oboe more realistic, use markers to increase the pitch LFO intensity on long sustains.

How to create:

* Lower the mid and high Eqs to -10
* Lower the low Eq to -48

you will need to psuedo sustain for notes longer than a quarter note but it works well for shorter notes

Now, make a clone of the bagpipe, and set the detune to about 10-20 cents above the first synth. Layer both on top of each other to get the bagpipe sound.
