So, you are asking for a notch filter or phaser?
There is probably a custom synthesizer in process which would do basic synthesizer stuff luke different waveforms, filters with envelopes and resonance control, etc. I've personally never found changing the duty cycle on a pulse to be useful, but I don't make a lot of songs.
Custom instruments in terms of uploading audio files is just a bad idea. Copyright is a problem, as well as 500GB sample libraries. And there is that issue with 'trusted users' where many people will beg for it. I really don't like the idea of custom instruments in OS.
Note groups seems interesting, I feel like it would be used more for easier instrument layering than for chords or melodies though, since copy/paste works well for that. Could just be weird though depending on its implementation.
I do really like the idea of seperate tracks, ESPECIALLY for the markers. It would also be nice to apply effects to groups of tracks, busses, for a different sound. (I'm thinking drum transients trigger some distortion to duck other instruments![Wink Wink](https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/images/smilies/wink.png)
Would it be more efficient to just render every song as an audio file and play that instead of playing the song as usual but without didplaying the notes for the performance increase and speed up playlist loading?
Thank you for your suggestions and for not resuggesting something that had been suggested 1000 times like "add general midi soundfont"
