>be me >good at drawing >spring of 2019 >friends want us to make a band together so that we can play to the school at the end of june >carelessly consent to it >several weeks pass >searching for simple ways to make music >have heard of daws before but not to a big extent other than the obvious >found myself on a random drumbeat site that i remember from like 2016 >you can't really do much with it >a few months later after mildly losing care for the group >found myself on chrome music lab >again it was very crappy, but i enjoyed making little tunes >thus begins my love for music (that will replace drawing in the future) >after a while i migrate to os where i found it much more useful (even if it still was 2019 and making professional music wasn't really do-able back then) >i start making a lot of little 4 bar loops to which i saved them on my school onedrive lmao (i still have them) >and oh by the way before you ask, my first song was a megalo ;~; >if i ever made a song over 4 bars, it's likely very shit >i had quite a lot of fun making music on our family chromebook (tough it hasn't really developped into a full on hobby but it soon will) >summer of 2019 (yes i still didn't show os to my music group for some reason) >over the next fall nothing much happened, i opened chat a few times to see what was going on but i was always very shy >first users i saw were Blocky, Lucent and XStep in chat lmao >during december i made which would become the first sequence of mine re-uploaded from my onedrive to my os account >after new years i decided to leg it and made an account to see how chat would accept me >(i treated chat like the pedestal of the gods or something lmao) >"what's goin on here?" >during spring nothing much happened either, school was really on me >i used my account to comment on a few people i remember from 2019 like MochiRaku (once named prodigy) or XxNovaxX >quarantine hit >internet goes crazy >user population inflates hard on os >decided to come in chat once again >corrected lucent's french speaking >for some reason when i came in viku screamed "PUUUUUZLEEEE" >was very unusual for me since i was really afraid of how people would treat me back then >i unknowingly made a friend on here >wondered how or why she even wanted to bother with me >listened to song that xstep posted, "dastardly" >immediately fall in love with xstep (no homo) >first collab with viku >second collab with newlstoon >starting listening to xstep's stuff >opened os on my PC for the first time around june of 2020 >listened to amen jungle by xstep and was immediately hooked >became a full-time hobby and an os regular around that time >third collab with alex >was a great time to be on os >os guilds happened, i had a guild with tests named piano geeks but nothing big really came of it >started talking to xstep more >fourth collab with xstep >spring of 2021 >got my first touhou game woohoo >new features changed sequences a lot >a lot of old friends i knew quit because of how different os is now >start to learn music theory in small inches >sequences on os become much better than what they used to be >start listening to jonah >he is literally the second coming of jesus christ holy shit >oh yeah i once mentionned this site to my group but still nothing lolol my music was still bad >summer of 2021 >music gets better >start to share a few songs to my group but nothing much really happened >i moved countries >no longer have access to my old teams account and my old friends >i'm a lot more invested in music right now than ever >present day if you didn't catch on, all this happened just because i carelessly accepted to be in my friends' music group that one decision changed a lot about my life given how music became my hobby and chat has really made me grow up more than i thought.

I discovered OS from this old Vsauce video: https://youtu.be/yn-r-u7rrvg?t=252 Also, here is another forum post from awhile ago that asks the same question, and has even more responses: https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=1619

I found this site back in early 2020 (or late 2019, I forgot) when I did a site search. I saw interesting things at this site, like chat, forums, and even the users. I made an account on June 25, 2020 (easily said in my account info). I didn't go so often until August 9, 2020. I was blocked on October 20, 2020 (I was thinking about National Banvisions Day every year on October 20), and was unbanned on April 20, 2021, but didn't come back until Friday, April 23. At that time, it looked like the first time I was here, new users, new features, and everything. I didn't know people like hadlee, LarryTheMaskMan, and many more people. When I came back, I also made much much better songs. And the Benvisions legacy continues.
