Okay, let me talk about #OSCRM (Online Sequencer Community Reform Movement), and this is the last related post on #OSCRM.
I'm Benvisions, a user here, and here to talk to you about how to help our community.
A few things we're going to get into before this post look at Lucent's position on this back in the December 2021 version of the OSCRM announcement before we get to my subject of OSCRM, https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=6324.
This forum summarizes everything from previous posts and even brings up new problems and subjects.
Okay, let me talk about some essential parts of what we need from you to improve our community and make OS a better place.
They either make posts or even make spam forums. Bots like these must get banned within a minute when they make their spam comment.
Examples of NSFW material include:
Those using NSFW material should get an immediate warning, mute, or ban, depending on the situation.
What's already good:
The website rules: https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=1538
What we should improve:
Chat restriction: We should do five sequences in addition to the 24-hour rule because some users still spam even after the 24-hour rule.
Introduce Yourself: Make it enforceable when they first join that the only forum to use is this. This will help soothe the bots from coming.
We need tutorials, and Lucent Guide is not linked to OS anymore. Without the Lucent Guide, it makes advanced topics harder, such as markers and consoles. Support our community and drive new users who want to learn OS to feel better in our community.
My tutorial ideas:
Keep in mind, according to Lucent:
Reposting Permissions
Reposting is completely acceptable.
Reposting is acceptable, but please notify me when you do.
Reposting can be acceptable, but please notify me first before saving a copy.
Reposting is NOT acceptable.
Remixing Permissions
Remixing is completely acceptable. (✓)
Remixing is acceptable, but please notify me when you do. (OK)
Remixing can be acceptable, but please ask me permission first. (ASK)
Remixing is NOT acceptable. (✗)
As Lucent said, "If sequence infringement is deliberate by a certain member, we will hand out warnings accordingly."
I was also hoping for a new vote system. It's like going to court or being in a legal television show. It will help people argue about who should be banned or not without having immediate mutes or bans due to argumentative decisions made by the user. We should though, have some rules about it (live civilly, spam, etc.) and make a final decision.
I still think of having an OS Kids site (I first mentioned it in a July 2021 forum issue https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=5602 here). It would help children under 13 with educational features and Google Classroom built-in. Also, most people thought it was a good idea, but Liam thought "This would be too much work to do (depending on the details of what you're proposing), and it would significantly increase the maintenance burden. I don't think this feature is solving a big problem either." I still should add much more details (hopefully soon, depending).
Why is there an age restriction on this?
Because: The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) has to do with the cost and work to comply with the law. And as told by some users, children under the age of 13 are annoying/immature at handling mature material.
Any questions, confusion, or anything related, contact me on Microsoft ([email protected]), or you can PM me here or DM me on Discord.

This forum summarizes everything from previous posts and even brings up new problems and subjects.
Okay, let me talk about some essential parts of what we need from you to improve our community and make OS a better place.
Firstly,
We need to be A LOT more strict on security and bots. The major problem of bots (except Robo and EtherBot) is that they:- Spam irrelevantly on OS.
- Spam links.
- Sometimes speak in other languages.
They either make posts or even make spam forums. Bots like these must get banned within a minute when they make their spam comment.
Secondly,
More users are teenagers, and even some are under 13. We should not add anything NSFW at all. And when I mean at all, I mean ABSOLUTELY. Contact the mods for vocabulary words to avoid. NSFW content is not good, especially for minors under 18.Examples of NSFW material include:
- Nazi material was used during the years of WW2 (1939-45) (many regions, such as Germany, ban this kind of stuff anyway)
- Sexual content or nudity of anything.
Those using NSFW material should get an immediate warning, mute, or ban, depending on the situation.
Thirdly,
In addition to what was said about number one, we should take further measures on security.
Fourthly,
We need tutorials, and Lucent Guide is not linked to OS anymore. Without the Lucent Guide, it makes advanced topics harder, such as markers and consoles. Support our community and drive new users who want to learn OS to feel better in our community.
My tutorial ideas:
- How to use the site.
- How to make new instruments using effects. (People complain constantly, and Jacob won't add due to storage issues)
- How to use markers.
- How to use the console.
- How to use the vocal synthesis.
Fifthly,
Song permission depends on the user. While the rules say you can remix but not repost, people have different opinions on reposting and remixing. A list of users who do have a permission list would be here. https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=1763Keep in mind, according to Lucent:
Sixthly,
I was also hoping for a new vote system. It's like going to court or being in a legal television show. It will help people argue about who should be banned or not without having immediate mutes or bans due to argumentative decisions made by the user. We should though, have some rules about it (live civilly, spam, etc.) and make a final decision.
Seventhly,
I still think of having an OS Kids site (I first mentioned it in a July 2021 forum issue https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=5602 here).
Eightly and lastly,
As told in the thirteenth rule on the OS rules, https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/showth...p?tid=1538, for we mean you must be 13 to use chat, there is a reason why.Why is there an age restriction on this?
Because: The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) has to do with the cost and work to comply with the law. And as told by some users, children under the age of 13 are annoying/immature at handling mature material.
Conclusion
By doing the rules and adding security, OS would be safer.Any questions, confusion, or anything related, contact me on Microsoft ([email protected]), or you can PM me here or DM me on Discord.
