Easier access to the instruments that are in use

I would love it if, when you added notes using an instrument, the little section from options for that instrument would appear on the left-hand side of the screen. Perhaps clicking it (or at least the coloured dot) could also open the advanced options menu for the instrument. It would make mixing the active instruments easier if you didn't need to search for your instrument or ctrl+click a note in the sequence to change volume, reverb, etc. Here is a mockup of what it looks like in my head.
