idk about software to download but i once found this other site that works in a similar way.

Advantages of this site is that it offers more sounds and better MIDI export integration (e.g. panning, dynamics, and de-tuning save through to midi). It also allows for better control of note dynamics, panning, and de-tuning, and allows for the creation of multiple tracks within the midi. It probably also has a few other things that I have yet to learn about.
Downsides of it are that it lacks accounts or the ability to save sequences to an account. It also does not appear to be able to export any kind of audio files (saving will only download a MIDI file directly to your computer), nor does it save any kind of special local files like OS does. It seems to be specifically designed for creating MIDI files, unlike OS which seems to be more on the side of letting users create browser-based music. It also lacks a community like OS has. And it also has a much different user interface, and it may be slightly difficult to re-learn all of the controls when moving over from here to there.
