Since this was suggested for me to post I guess i'll yammer here
I don't really care since I use this primarily to make music but it's apparent that a majority of people here have some kind of problem with the current moderation for one reason or another. A possible solution to this could be an election for users to choose what mods they'd like to be on the site.
Key points cause i'm lazy
-every year or half year people on the discord will have a poll to choose mods they like
-RCV would be the optimal choice for obvious reasons
-anyone with over two years on the site and discord can enter the election to become mod
-No term limit for how many times someone can be mod
-Potentially a way to kick off a mod by another vote but that's another thing entirely
-by rcv voting if a new mod is garbage or doesn't know what they're doing the runner they can be removed up by choice can be selected
-People with some kind of bad history should NOT be allowed to mod
What will this do?? lol?
-Mods will have to make good decisions to keep a good public opinion
-people will stop complaining
-everyone will be happy yippee!!!
-OS community engagement
-People will stop leaving bcz they are sad & don't like the mods
-Democracy which we all love
Negatives
-Current mods will despise this
-small amount of effort I guess
-OS politics (that's what half of OS chat is tho idk if it counts)
Thanks for reading my slop post, y'all are cool. Hope y'all have a good day and... good night.
