Fragile Ascent
probably my best ambient song to date, probably because i haven't made any other ones :3 (it's a pretty cool song tho imo)
motifs used:
- "Reflection" at #m57-64; from Crystal Labyrinth, m17-65
- "Determination" at #m65-81; from Hike To Nowhere, m49-65
references:

dialogue (read one line for every red note at the top of the song; every major shift will be a > so you don't lose track):
- h-uh?
- covered in snow...
- concussion. great.
- wait...it's real snow.
- how did you get out here?
- were you running from someone?
- perhaps being overambitious?
- that would make sense,
> because of how tall these mountains are.
- no sign of settlements nearby...
- and no huge valleys to take a route back home through.
- what a mess.
- caves?...none so far.
- should probably find your travel kit,
- it couldn't have fallen that far from you...
- unless you never had one.
> alone, no supplies, no memory, nothing.
- nothing except for the mountains.
- they beckon you to climb, but how?
- how, without your hooks, your gloves, everything?
- but then again, if you had fallen, you're not as hurt as you'd expect to be.
- maybe it's possible after all.
- or maybe, you can just wait it out.
- starvation takes a long time, you know.
> is anyone looking for you?
- friends? family? government agents?
- no chopper to be heard.
- what happens if you don't make it?
> they'll probably forget about you.
- perhaps it was your lunatic actions that got you here in the first place.
- the others are safe because they didn't follow after you.
- but if the insane brought you down this pit of rock,
> it's the insane that will get you out of it.
- by now you've recovered enough climbing technique to get your foothold on the rocks.
- it's dangerous to stay in the cold with nothing to live on.
- there's no use to keep waiting for a rescuer to come,
> so you might as well start climbing.
