the most terrifying fugue (for solo violin)
Bach - Sonata No. 3 for Solo Violin
I. Adagio [the ending] (1 - 6)
II. Fuga (7 - 352)
The longest fugue Bach ever wrote in terms of amount of measures, sure you may think fugues on a piano are hard; but on violin its just ridiculous.
I have tried and failed to play this piece multiple times, the sheer amount of double, triple, and quadruple stops hurts both hands. Not only is there several chords that spell out the harmony of the fugue, but you have to amplify the sound of the fugue subject over the other strings, which can be done by lifting off of every string but the one playing the subject
red - subject
blue - inversion of subject

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece! I really enjoyed that you coloured in the subject. How are you doing that using custom colours? I would love to use this method for analysis of other polyphonic music.
