ballade no 1 in d minor
this is basically my 150k special
Some people may think this is a great piece and all, but this was just the practice to prepare for the better piece

I really wanted to compete with viri's ballade with the only theme i have being the june 2025 contest, and the theme from the second movement of klaviersonate nr. 32.
Here, I developed a theme around the ancient "La Folia" progression, written as the "A" theme, I wrote the introduction around the same progression after when I realized that most if not all ballades have an introduction.
Anyways, viri's ballade nr. 2 was written under the same premise, i even let him borrow the "B" theme.
I might continue with my Op. 70 set of waltzes, but i am working on too many WIPs and other things to even bother with the comparatively minuscule size of the waltzes.
the "A" theme, being the sad, more solemn theme, is colored in red and yellow
the B theme, has four seperate renditions, the first colored in a muted green and blue, and the other three being more vibrant
The C theme is the same color as theme B
The coda is Red and Brownish-gray
The form is a kind of modified sonata form, with a reversed recapitulation in which the "B" theme is presented first before the "A" theme preceding the coda

i think work needs it at youtube : )
Somehow, every note is slightly out of tune but by the same amount; I would consider it D-half-sharp Minor.

Its a different tuning i prefer to put contest works in, A= 455.5hz (nearly a full semitone sharp compared to standard), otherwise, i prefer 428hz (about 1 quarter tone flat)
I just dont really like how 440hz sounds
How did you make the notes different colors?

when in an instrument's "advanced" panel, you can change the color by clicking the colored circle next to the instrument name, i just used clones here

Did you also take some inspo from Scherzo No. 1? That chord is almost as dissonant.
