I only feature a sequence when I feel proud of it, and when the sequence feels mostly finished. These sequences met those criteria when I featured them, but don't make the cut now. I've put them here to track the increase in quality over time without cluttering the actual featured sequences.

As it happens, this thumbnail is from an image rendered by me!
I made some original space ships a while back, and basically just positioned one in front of a picture from the internet, then placed a light source in the same spot as the sun in the original image.
I lost most of the detail, but the ships were laying around completely unused anyway.
Inspiration from:

To a starship captain, the constant sound of the ship's main reactor is comforting.
Just about anything to do with navigation and control is either occurs too quickly or too slowly for a Human's intervention to mean much, so a captain's only job is to plan their route an make sure nobody else slacks off.
On a ship with a good crew like this one, the captain doesn't even need to supervise all that closely.
Inevitably, he finds himself sitting for hours, listening to that constant, calming low hum of the reactor.
For as long as the reactor hums, the automation can control the vessel.
If it were to stop...
