Happy New Year, Online Sequencer! As of today, the site has now reached a critical milestone of its life. Today is the Online Sequencer 10 Year Anniversary. This being the case, the community committee would like to present to you the Online Sequencer 10 Year Contest!
For those who remember the World Update Contest in 2018, and the Space Race Contest in 2021, this contest will be another large-scale contest that will last around 4 months — from January 1 until April 25th.
Like the previous contests, we give you an allotted time to make your pieces:
January 2nd - April 1st
However, now we have 2 more special categories that you can submit into in addition to the main contest:
Special categories:
- Clean electric piano (classic)
- (limited to only 1/4th grid)
- No effects
- No Markers
- No velocity
- This theme represents the original capabilities of the 2013 sequencer.
- (limited to only 1/4th grid)
- OS Anniversary 10 years Art - This category is about making art that can be featured on tee-shirts, mugs, etc.
- 300 DPI PNG (Note: This is what Teespring says and it does not specify pixels)
- Must be SFW
- The winning artwork will be used as limited OS merchandise
- 300 DPI PNG (Note: This is what Teespring says and it does not specify pixels)
However, unlike the other previous contests, there will be a change in the way entries are submitted.
You may submit directly through the Google Form provided. Once you submit, you cannot edit or withdraw your submission so think before you post.
Notice: The special categories are seperate from the Main Contest and will count towards your total submissions.
Here are the guidelines for this contest:
- Upload up to max. 3 sequences and 3 art pieces (3 sequences total, it is ok to submit 3 into the same category, but no more than 3 sequences total)
- Do not edit your submission after submitting
- Submissions must follow standard forum and sequencing rules
- Submissions must be original
- Sequences must be more than a minute and less than 4 minutes.
- Collabs are allowed, but prizes will be split between the parties involved
Judging will work similarly to the World Update Contest in which the committee categorizes your sequences based on a list of specific criteria. After categorizing your sequences into tiers, we will open a few Google Forms for public voting.
Prizes will be determined as we near the judging period for the contest. This post will be updated periodically.
If you have questions, ask either Alex!, Cool172, or anyone on the contest committee.
