I've spent a lot of time thinking about this theme, and I think this may be the entry:

I wanted to take the prompt to heart and really make something that evoked what trick or treating feels like to me. And although that made me forgo a traditional extra spooky flavor, I tried to evoke the feeling of penetrating the ocean of a nighttime neighborhood, whilst at the same time making something that felt comfortable and lighthearted. Not spooky, but it feels right to me.
I may submit another, so I'll leave my options open, but this one I'm certain of.
I haven't had any time to work on my entry this month, and this is my favorite contest. Do you think you can allow a late entry? I really would like to participate in this contest

Sorry, no. However, you do still have two more days (not including today).
For this month I'm submitting Tr8ck!!!!!!!!, a spooky little tune born from a Frankensteinian resurrection of a really old sequence of mine with a melody based off of "Spider8ite!!!!!!!!" from Homestuck. I made this one really quickly (I think I'm posting this about 6 hours after I started making it?) but I've had most of this composed in my head for a while now, just had no free time. Hope you enjoy!
this is the deadline date... i cant finish it atm because stupid library computer doesnt have enough ram to support the size of my piece. if i have to send unfinished, then here. ##1246724
