Well, in my opinion, the old and new markers are well made. I could prefer one or the other. That's why I said that I didn't care which option to choose from. In fact, both markers should be on Online Sequencer as far as I know. However, there are problems with both sides of the marker UI setup. As far as I know, the old one is hard to get unless you right-click on the top. Beginners will find this very hard and annoying to find it and pop-ups are very hard to navigate Online Sequencer. Because of that, it could have some difficult times having to navigate (I mean some people like it. And I don't think it's so bad.). Now let's get to the other side, as Lucent said, it would be slightly harder to get from point A to point B when blending. If there was a new menu it would be much easier to do but it could be crowded and that's pretty bad (even for new users who "never" used Online Sequencer before). The new UI system might be too early though because the marker system is still (pretty) new, so we might have to wait for time so that we can think about the changes. So in my opinion, if we had both the new and old systems, I'm fine with either system even though both marker systems have problems perfectly getting to the point. Before the conclusion, both markers are very hard for beginners. You probably need an expert to help you with the markers (like Me, Bentoonie, or many other experts) if you don't know them yet.

Would it be possible for there to be a setting to switch between the new setup and the old one (Possibly branded as "Legacy" and "New" or something along those lines) along with a brief explanation of how the two different settings work (possibly while hovering over the two aforementioned options.) These could be found in "More Tools" menu. Going along with the same old song and dance I definitely had no idea what markers were and discovered them entirely on accident but found that once you actually find them and know how to get to them, it's pretty simple. I myself am a relatively if not absolutely newcomer to OS and still use markers pretty avidly, albeit not extremely advanced. With the current marker system it's a little hard to find for lack of a better definition and I think that possibly a little note that you can access markers by doing such and such would be helpful. I guess I would still prefer a less cluttered UI though.
The definition of: An idiot teen who likes t make almost exclusively orchestral styled music because it comes out at least...okay. Oddly specific but the point still stands.

Excuse my bad drawing but how does this look for a UI? This is kind of what I had in mind. Maybe also the tabs at the bottom could be shortcuts so if I press shift+1 or something it goes to them? The mixer thing with all the instruments advanced settings can probably fit nicely into the sidebar

Otherwise it would be hard to tell where the transitions should be. So Lopyt's UI is cool, but maybe it should be semi-transparent so that you can see the notes and line up your marker changes with them.

with that in mind i will once again display my mockup https://onlinesequencer.net/forum/attach...hp?aid=367

I think the designs both have their advantages and could be combined in a way to add maximum efficiency. Semi transparent is a must though, and a little hard to get to a good balance between foreground and background. Probably a transparency the level of OS Chat would work nicely

If even there was a marker filter feature I'd be happy. Like if I have 400 markers and I need to find out which three are for my trombone EQ, I could filter that and get them highlighted or something. Or if something sounds funny and I want to find if I've accidentally markered my synth somewhere in this jungle of markers. The biggest problem with the popups is that its difficult to comprehend when starting. I can imagine newbies just throwing their hands up. It took me a few days to get to grips with the system the way that it is, but now that I have the hang of it, the popup panels are kinda clunky but I don't mind too much. If I had marker filters and if the reset global setting button was actually hooked to the global (ie changed when the global changed) I'd be quite happy (until I think of something else).
I remixed the remix. Now it's back to normal. ~Mitch Hedberg
