March of the Siberian Riflemen, Through Valleys and Over Hills / Partisans Song
Many songs in one, but the two most popular:
--March of the Siberian Riflemen--
"The March of the Siberial Riflemen" is claimed to have been written by Colonel Pyotr Batorin of the Russian White Army in commemoration of the Iasi-Don March. Accounts also claimed that the composer Dmitry Pokrass was ordered to write the tune of the march by Colonel Anton Turkul during the occupartion of Kharkov in 1919.
--Through Valleys and Over Hills / Partisans Song--
"Through Valleys and Over Hills", or more commonly known as "The Partisan's Song" is a popular song of The Red Army from The Russian Civil War. It was popular in the Soviet Union after the end of the civil war, gaining some resurgence among partisans of both The Soviet Union and Yugoslavia during The Second World War.
Many other versions for the song exist, in Greek, English and Hebrew, with some alternative versions changing the lyrics entirely, like us "The Makhnovshchina"
I was unable to find if it was written first by The Russian White Army or The Russian Red Army, so it is still currently unclear to me. You are free to research and find this out for yourself.
