Prélude á Demain, dés l'aube
For June 2025 Contest
[I suggest setting your volume anywhere from halfway to near max to be able to hear the quiet parts, but please be wary of the volume approaching up to measure 49 to 65]
Based on Victor Hugo's poem Demain, dés l'aube (Tomorrow, at Dawn), which describes the yearning for a loved one who has already passed as they approach closer to their grave. Hugo had written this poem upon the death of his own daughter.
This prelude is meant to depict the moments of love and the eventual tragedy and loss before the scenes described in the poem.
This will be the first piece that I will have made that is based upon literature, which is something that I will continue to be doing from now on.
m1 - m16 -- Theme of Loved One
m17 - m32 -- Moment of Love
m33 - m48 -- Transfiguration of Loved One
m49 - m64 -- Tragedy Strikes
m65 - m87 -- Remembrance of Loved One
Though rushed through in 3 days, this was the definitely the most emotionally grueling sequence I've made so far.
