July 2025 Contest Entry #1 - Bottom Half
First time utilizing the synthesizer outside of for purposes of sound effects (e.g. Kosmos-Entführung), which is why this sequence is named "unusual".
play and unplay for synth reverbs
Form Analysis (for myself)
m1 - m8 -- Note this chord sequence*
m8 - m16 -- Melodic Theme A enters (with opening chord sequence)
m17 - m24 -- Small developmental section utilizing first half of Melodic Theme A
m25 - m32 -- Melodic Theme B enters
m33 - m40 -- Semi-restatement of Melodic Theme B with a faint recall back to the first chord sequence
m41 - m48 -- Melodic Theme A re-enters in Strings with chord sequence
m49 - m56 -- Small developmental section again of first half of Theme A
m57 - m64 -- Theme A played by Piano 2 are played at the same time as Theme B by Synths 3 & 4 (Theme A slightly altered)
m65 - m72 -- Synths and Piano switch, so Theme A is on the Synths and Theme B is on the Piano (Both themes slightly altered to reach G# in m73)
m73 - m84 -- The opening chord sequence plays one last time, with the opening of Theme A concluding the cadence
*Fun fact: I took interest in bentoonie's chord in sequence #4671055 (
) and built upon it before the contest [June 27th]. Once the contest came out I just brought the chord sequence below B4 (technically). So thank you very much bentoonie 🙏
