that last nocturne was amazing, i should write another one
i finally finished it after 2 and a half months
03/26/2026 (3 pieces in a month? that hasn't happened since October)
Nocturne in B Major, Op. 7, No. 1 (from 2 Nocturnes, Op. 7)
I'm finally starting another opus (that i won't finish for months).
This is the first piece I've ever written that doesn't fully resolve, but it feels like a complete ending.
I also had to re-align some of the notes after humanizing because it sounded like I was the human playing it (i.e., bad).
This nocturne is actually based on an improvisation I had the night before I made this sequence. Sometimes I just sit at the piano in the dark and try to play whatever comes to mind. This one sounds suspiciously like Chopin's Op. 27, No. 2.
You'll also notice that this took me 2 months to finish. This is actually extremely rare, because sometimes I just don't have the will to finish something. If I don't get it done within a month, it's usually being abandoned for seven. This is proof that there's still hope, even for Op. 3, No. 3.
