TITLE
i think i was possessed when i wrote this (part 1: i wonder if this should have been a Ballade)
oh god did i just write something better and longer than the Scherzo-Fantaisie?
03/06/2026 (fun fact: I made Op. 1, No. 1 one whole year ago to the day)
Piano Sonata No. 1 in G-sharp Minor, Op. 9: I. Grave. Doppio movimento
Dedicated to ewrruewc for being one of the reasons I didn't quit after [We do not talk about Ballade No. 1.]. I'm not sorry, Gabriel.
The reason this even exists is because I had what would eventually become the last iteration of the B Theme in my head for around 2 days. It's very inspired by Scriabin's Fantaisie, though if this were actual Scriabin, this would be the entire sonata. That means that this and the second movement of ewrruewc's sonata are inspired by the same thing. I wrote it down and it sounded very sonata-like, but I didn't know if I was ready to write one. The best thing I could think of at the moment was to ask him.
He said yes.
I think I'm about to play this on loop for the next 2 weeks (or at least I would if it wasn't 9 and a half minutes long). The coda is inspired by the coda of Scriabin 4.
how do i even close on this one, just listen to it.
@Yustoor! I remember you commenting on a few of my pieces like 11 months ago, and me actually being able to reply to them.
